Chicago cheers at WiMax launch

After a long wait, WiMax broadband service is going to be launched in Chicago this week which will offer the users to have access to the internet at a lightning fast speed.

WiMax is the forth generation Wi-Fi technology crafted to accelerate the speed of internet connectivity, increase the strength and range of the existing Wi-Fi connection to cater the service among next-gen mobile device users and enable them with broadband-like speed, no matter wherever they are.

Clearwire Corp. began selling its services only this Sunday at the biggest retail stores and they declared today that the company has started on 4G Wi-FI service in Chicago region. The network coverage area is initially from Gary to Rockford but unfortunately some places will currently deprive of the service. The 4-G Wi-Fi connectivity speed is proclaimed to be 10 times faster than 3-G velocity. They are offering a speed range as fast as broadband.

Chicago has been waiting for the service from a pretty much long span of time and the waiting has come to an end with a bang. Earlier in 2007, the region was provided with a nationwide Wi-Fi network but in the very next year, the two companies that were providing the service split up and after they reunited, they brought a gift to the Chicago dwellers with an old name, Clearwire who have got investment from Comcast and Google Inc.

The company is also going to put forward desktop modem that will be absolutely portable and user-friendly.

Two other companies, AT&T and Verizon wirelees are also setting up 4G networks to introduce a new technology named Long Term Evolution. In a nutshell, Chicago will be experiencing newer Wi-Fi options in recent times. It’s really time for cheers for Chicago.
