Run Microsoft 2010 and Microsoft 2007 alongside

Run the Microsoft Office 2010 installation wizard and choose the ‘Customize’ button to click on.

Click ‘browse’ to choose another installation folder apart from that which already includes Microsoft Office 2007. Take this new path as C: \ Program Files \ MSOffice 2010.

By choosing this different path you can now run together Microsoft Office 2010 and Microsoft Office 2007 at the same time, or singularly. But you cannot open the same file at the same time with both the office packages. If you possess the market version, and not the Beta version of Microsoft Office 2010 then you need not to replace Outlook 2007 with Outlook 2010.

The office files are directly linked to Microsoft Office 2010 once the installation i done successfully. If you want to change the default settings you may go to the Control Panel or you can change the setting by the Office 2007 setup wizard to revamp the installation.

If you are running Microsoft Office 2010 installation wizard from a folder on your hard drive you may download the pre-configuration filed config MSP. This way Microsoft Office 2010 will be installed while the older version remains preserved.

As soon as the config MSP file is downloaded, copy the file to the Microsoft Office 2010 folder containing the setup.exe file. Open a DOS window and type SETUP / adminfile config.msp
